SMITH HEAPS PRAISE ON NAKAMBA AFTER VILLA BEAT SPURS

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has praised his Zimbabwe international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba for his role in their fine away win against Tottenham in the Premier League. The manager was in a jubilant mood and expressed how delighted he was with his players after they staged a remarkable comeback win against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the 37th matchday of the English Premier League.

Tottenham seemed like they were going to claim another impressive home win under the management of interim manager Ryan Mason after Steven Bergwijn slotted home a fine finish after just eight minutes into the match. Nakamba was partly the cause of the early goal but the Zimbabwean midfielder decided not to dwell on that and chose to try to amend his mistake.

His decision paid off as he had a hand in their equalizer after causing Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon to score an own goal. With the game-square and tied at 1-1, Ollie Watkins then had to be the hero for Aston Villa after scoring what was the difference between the two sides. Aston Villa shows some grit and spirit to win the game and it was a victory that not only continued to show how much improvement the Villans have had in the team, but it also added fuel to the rumors spreading around that Tottenham striker Harry Kane could be leaving the club this summer.

Smith praised his players after the game but reserved special accolades for the likes of Nakamba, Watkins, John McGinn, and club captain Jack Grealish who made his return to the team after spending more than three months out with injury. It was indeed a huge win for Villa as they prepare to play their final game of the season against Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League.
