The coach who was assigned with the task of coaching the Zimbabwe national football team was Ian Gorowa as he took charge of the squad back in July of 2013 but even though it still has not even been a year since his designation; his future at the team is at risk.
Ian Gorowa has not submitted the reports that the High Performance Committee requested and now it seems like the Committee wants to end their relationship with the 41 year old tactician. Zimbabwe could not make their way to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after failing to qualify and the HPC wants to see how the squad is doing with the documents they asked for but Ian Gorowa has not given it to the panel.
The chairman of the High Performance Committee John Phiri stated: “We resolved as the HPC to close the chapter on Gorowa. We don’t want to continue being involved in this issue. We received only two reports. There were no other reports for the Chan tournament, the friendly matches against Malawi and South Africa and the 2015 African Cup of Nations first leg against Tanzania. We have recommended the Zifa board to take a decision on the matter. We are now waiting for the Zifa board to make a decision.”
Gorowa has already stated that he does not feel like he needs to send reports back to the Committee and now his future in charge of the club will depend on the decision that the Zifa board decide on making but it does not seem like his future is bright as he is constantly being linked with a move away from the African side.
