Aston Villa’s Zimbabwean midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has reiterated his desire to remain at Villa Park and fight for his place in the team. This comes after several reports have emerged about him potentially sealing a transfer away from the club because he is no longer needed by the manager.
However, in what would come as a sign of relief to some Villa fans, the combative midfielder has come out publicly to declare his love for the club and to also maintain his stance that he does not wish to leave anytime soon. The 26-year-old made his first start of the campaign as a result of Douglas Luiz serving a suspension after making a cameo appearance in their previous game against Wolves. He also last made another cameo appearance in the famous 7-2 drubbing of Premier League Champions Liverpool back in October.
His lack of minutes on the pitch is the reason several reports have swirled around about him being close to an exit from the club and part of the clubs he has been linked to us Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray. However, he said he has his heart set at Villa and does not want to leave.
The midfielder said on the club’s official website that he is always ready and available when the club needs him, insisting that there are couple of good players around who make competition for places more stuff but that he enjoys the fight for places. He said no matter what, everyone tries to do nothing but give their best on the pitch and try to help one another grow game by game.
This development will come as a huge blow to Galatasaray, who were interested in completing a move that would have seen the midfielder swap England for Turkey.
